Landscape Enhancement Package

Whenever playing Aleph One (wether as Marathon Infinity or Marathon 2: Durandal) you've probably noticed that the good old background landscapes that make Marathon so lively look kinda 'blurry' with a screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher. Because in my opinion the landscapes always were one of Marathon's strong graphical features, I've decided to enhance these for use with Aleph One.

For the biggest part the landscapes are enlarged versions of the original ones with a bit of touch up to make 'em look better when playing on high screen resolutions. Some are remakes with art from Graig Mullins, so credit goes out to his outstanding Marathon art work (also used in the original chapter screens).

How to install:

Installation is fairly easy. You put the MML script into your 'Scripts' folder and you can just drag and drop the 'Landscapes' folder for each of the games into your specific Aleph One folder. Be sure not to change any of the file names, just drag and drop the files and you're ready to go.
For the best performance, make sure you've got the latest version of Aleph One installed.

What's new in 1.1:

- Some of the landscapes, didn't loop properly, now they do.

- Some minor visual enhancements to the actual landscapes. And some graphical flaws have been removed.

- Landscapes are now .DDS instead of .JPG, increasing their in-game performance, quality and reducing their download size.

- The landscapes can now be scaled down in the graphics options in Aleph One if they happen to slow your system a lot. (Also thanks to .DDS).

- An optional script file has been included to keep the landscapes in place when OpenGL Fog is turned on. To Install, just drag and drop the script in your scripts folder.

Enjoy! - Tim Vogel
